Pachuca had a solid showing throughout the Apertura 2015, finishing in the top half of the table but falling short in the Liguilla quarterfinals. The team's real success came in the Clausura 2016, where they displayed consistent form throughout the tournament, finishing third in the regular season standings. In the playoffs, Pachuca made an impressive run, culminating in a dramatic victory in the final against Monterrey, winning 2-1 on aggregate.
