Away shirt believed to have been worn by or issued to Gianluca Festa during the 1996-97 season when the club finished as runners up in both the FA Cup and League Cup and were relegated at the end of the season, finishing 19th in the Premier League after they were docked 3 points earlier in the season for failing to fulfil a fixture which saw the club finish 2 points short of safety. Gianluca Festa joined the club in 1997, scoring 10 goals in 136 appearances for Middlesbrough before leaving the club in 2002.
