Arsenal Highbury Everton

Have you ever sat in the wrong end and tried not to celebrate a goal?

When we were looking at vintage photography of Highbury Stadium we noticed an Everton fan wearing the 1992-94 Umbro away shirt in the home end. It got us thinking how many of you have sat in the wrong end and tried not to celebrate a goal? We had loads of storys on social media but not many people had worn their teams' shirt in the home end without at least a jacket over the top!

As we had some great responses we thought we'd add them below. Enjoy.

Sat in the Stretford end at Old Trafford in 1996 with my dad. We lost 1-0 Beckham scored the winner. I had my Liverpool shirt on under my coat. My dads a city fan too.

Few times in London in early 80’s when you could just turn up and pay to get in. Worst was In The Shed the Friday night televised game when Richardson scored. Didn’t help the mood around us when someone in away end kept firing flares into the Chelsea fans at the side of pitch.

Sat in the Anfield Road End with Palace fans with Liverpool shirt on under my coat, when Rush scored the opening goal it got a bit fruity with the Palace fans so zipped up my coat and sat on my hands - was worth it just to see the 3 sides errupt

Luton away when they banned away fans in mid 80’s .....didn’t wear colours

Me and @AndyField_07 in the Anfield Rd end with Liverpool fans when United beat them 1-0 in the FA Cup and someone threw his mobile phone at Rooney as he celebrated ???? we got made before kick off as we were literally the only 2 people in the stand not stood up singing YNWA!
